BYU head football coach Kalani Sitake participated as one of the coaches in the Coaches Film Room during the ESPN News’ coverage of the College football Playoff National Championship between Clemson and Alabama on Monday night.
Clemson won 35-31, but BYU fans have been more entertained in the days following the broadcast on what happened in the Coaches Film Room.
During the broadcast, Syracuse coach Dino Babers teased Sitake saying, “Lot easier to protect when those offensive linemen are a little bit older than everybody else.”
Sitake didn’t let the laughing coach’s jab go unanswered. Responding immediately, Sitake said: “They didn’t go on a mission to Gold’s Gym. They are riding bicycles and eating Ramen Noodles.”
He later added, “If it was a great system to develop your athletes, Alabama would be doing it. And not one of their guys is going on a mission.”

And his players appreciated his defense.
